It was still dark in the early hours of the morning as we tried to find each other on the beach. The sun hadn’t quite risen yet, but we made our way to one another. We greeted each other and slowly walked towards the rocks near the water, getting acquainted. As we placed our belongings in the sand, the quiet moments before our session settled in.

As we began to shoot, the sun slowly started to peak through – a beautiful swirl of purple and pink skies. We commented on how it was as feminine and soft as the portraits we wanted to create. How there was no way to plan such a scene that so perfectly matched our vision. It was a moment of true serendipity – one that gave us permission to move slowly and subtly.

Many women come to this work unsure of how the session will unfold. That uncertainty is part of the process. It’s the pinnacle of documenting moments that are true.

These portrait sessions are available to women in South Florida who are drawn to this quiet, intentional work.
